Mission Wrexham is dedicated to seeing Wrexham reached for Jesus.
We seek to achieve this through direct encouragement and enablement of the church in Wrexham County Borough in its work of Mission & Evangelism. This is accomplished by providing a network for local churches and their members, whereby mission projects are initiated and developed, evangelisitic initiatives promoted and prayer encouraged.
It has active members from across the Borough of Wrexham, and over the 13 years of its existence has played a part in the development of such ministries as Wrexham Listeners, Alpha, Street Pastors, 24/7 prayer and Christians against Poverty.
The church in the town has been helped in its work following visits arranged through Mission Wrexham of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Elaine Storkey, Steve Chalke and in 2008 welcomed the visit of Sandy Millar of HTB.
Mission Wrexham reports its work to Cytun Wrecsam (Churches Together), who endorse our projects, and Mission Wrexham promotes the ministry of prayer across the churches by holding a townwide prayer meeting each term and publishing a regular Prayer News bulletin. For more details or enquiries as to how you can get involved please contact us.
Gweini is the National Council for the Christian Voluntary Sector in Wales. It supports local church community work with information, networking and other useful resourcing. In Wrexham County Borough, Mission Wrexham acts as a conduit for information flows providing for Gweini the opportunity to reach the parts it otherwise couldn't reach. Local Gweini Wrexham Information is therefore delivered through Mission Wrexham, and to this end Mission Wrexham helps Gweini stage workshops and conferences in the Borough.
Pictured here are guests at a conference in November 2008 when Gweini's strategic director John Evans presented the results of a local audit of the churches community work. Pictured here with John are Inspector Chris Beasley of North Wales Police, The Mayor of Wrexham Councillor David Griffiths, Bishop Edwin, Bishop of Wrexham and Major David Evans of Wrexham Salvation Army.
